New York City’s historic train station, Grand Central Terminal, was filled with Colombian pride and passion. Colombia Is Passion and Colombia’s Consulate of New York sponsored a Colombian Community Day at the “Discover Colombia Through Its Heart” exhibit.
“Local Colombians and their friends got to experience a slice of home,” said Maria Claudia Lacouture, Director General of Colombia Is Passion. “It wasn’t just about the Hearts, the music, and dancing, it was about the pride they felt. They told us how proud they were of their country for making this exhibit and showing the world the reality of Colombia and the passion it has to offer. They brought their friends so they could see Colombia and experience it right here in New York.”
Colombians attending the event, committed to bring a least one foreigner friend. For every hundred of Colombians, there were hundred who had never been to Colombia. In all more than 5,000 attended the event.
